Who knew that an 8-minute teaching would open the door to global opportunities? Only the Lord can take the 2 fishes and 5 loaves of bread we offer Him, increase it and bless the multitude. That is certainly what He has done for me through Zoe Life Writer’s Guild.
I was asked to present a short key-note address at our August 21st Guild meeting. I speak publicly quite often but was a bit nervous about my ability to complete my assignment in ONLY 8 minutes. Pastor Bill Brannan videoed that talk titled, “Taking Up Your Cross”, and posted it on our Zoe Life Writer’s Guild website. Since it was a short-teaching, and because we are encouraged in the Guild to promote the message God has given us, I decided to share the video with family and friends.
I don’t know if you remember the Breck Shampoo commercials, but in the commercial the first user decides to tell a friend about the wonders of shampooing with Breck, who then tells two more friends. The hook line in the ad was, “And she told two friends, and they told two friends and so on and so on and so on” as more and more women fill the screen. I emailed the video link on August 23rd (that’s how fast Pastor Bill works!). A friend, who received the link, checked out the video and sent it on to another friend. That friend of a friend turned out to be a woman who wrote the curriculum for an organization called, GEMS: Girl’s
Everywhere Meeting the Savior. GEMS is an international mentoring ministry for girls. You can check them out at www.gemsgc.org. That friend of a friend has also recently launched an ‘adult version’ of GEMS called T2 based on Titus 2.
To make a long story short, we connected with each other and “connected in the Spirit” Because the discipleship of women is part of the mission call upon my life, we sensed a God-moment in our meeting. That 2 fishes and 5 loaves (8 minutes of teaching) offered on August 21st is being turned into something that will nourish countless others. Now a door is open for me to work alongside this new-found sister-in-Christ, teaching in her T2 ministry, and also to speak at annual events for an international ministry. All because God deposited a vision in Dr. Adams to inspire, equip and catapult Christian authors to their destiny, who then shared that vision with others, who lent their talents and ran with the vision, one of whom built a website and decided to video the teachings, which were then posted on a website, and so on and so on and so on ….
